My 4th Fragrance direct Haul (and collective photo's)

Ever since I came across this site I have LOVED it and recently received my 4th large order from them. Everything comes packaged really well, with plenty of packing peanuts to keep it from breaking. Also standard delivery is only 1.95 and each time I have ordered it has arrived within 2 business days.... AMAZING!

As you may have guessed from the name they do sell perfumes and fragrances, however I have no ordered any of these yet, only the skin/hair care and cosmetics products. When you first land on their site and start exploring you may be shocked, I sure was. Things are VERY cheap, and upto 80% off retail price. This is not a scam, nor are they fake products, the way they can offer such low prices is because most of their stock is discontinued/bulk orders or perhaps has damaged/no packaging. Anyway everything is brand new, and I have been completely happy with everything so far. So onto what I got....

I'm not going to try review everything, so request if you'd like something reviewed. I'm just going to post all the photo's and all of the prices :)

Pixi - Sensual smokey eyes mini palette review

I purchased this palette earlier this year whilst I was still living in America. It was in the clearance section at target for only $6.98 which I thought was a total bargain so had to pick it up. The colours are really cute, and the shadows are quite pigmented so you don't need much product to really achieve a good colour.

On the back of the palette it says

This kit is designed for you to achieve a sensationally energizing smokey eye - a real classic with a twist! Each liner has a coordinating crease colour and a matching lid and highlight colour to perfectly work together. Use shade 1 as a liner, shade 5 in the crease, and shade 9 on lid and brow bone to highlight - pure perfection!

So basically it tells you how to achieve a classic foolproof look. Not to sound silly but unless I read the back I would have had no idea the colours were meant to be matched lol.

Here are a few photo's of the palette and the colour's of the shadows.

I will try take some swatches and add those a bit later on too!

Overall I would give this palette 7/10. It was a great bargain, it is a great size to just slip in your handbag and the colours really have a good staying power. I think the only improvements that could be made would be for a small brush to be included, so that if you are using it on the go and don't have a brush you won't have to use your fingers. Also for possibly slightly more durable card to be used. Although it is pretty resilient, if you carried this around alot I think it might get quite tatty quickly.

Missing my babies

I have been back in England for almost 4 months now, and my hubby and our 2 doggies are still back in America staying with his mom. I miss them all dearly, and spent quite a chunk of today browsing through some old photo's and videos of them.... they are such characters!

Loki on the day we brought him home at 8 weeks old. He was such a bundle of fluff!!

Snuggle time.... and Loki thinking I look like a weirdo!

New friends. Bucky on the left and Loki on the right at about 10 weeks

AWWWWW. The two of them sharing a bone :)

Cute Loki!

Within seconds of bringing Loki home, they were friends already and Loki kept trying to put wrestling on moves on bucky :P

Our big softie Bucky, he is such a good dog

Bucky taking his place ready for Matt and I's pizza night. He doesn't get pizza slices, but we do toss him the odd crust if he's good!

We included them in some of our engagement photo's. they were so good, even thought we did drag them out of bed at 5am!

There are videos of them playing posted on my youtube page also. Go check em out!!

Paul Mitchell hair review

So... One of my main hobbies is "comping", and one of my recent wins was this little goodie box of Paul Mitchell products with a faux pearl bracelet. Having used them for about 2 weeks now, I thought I would write a quick review on them and let everyone know what I think about them :)

Included in the set was Paul Mitchell shampoo one, Paul Mitchell the detangler conditioner, Paul Mitchell fast drying sculpting spray and Paul Mitchell freeze and shine super spray.

Shampoo One
OK firstly this stuff smells DELICIOUS. It has a rich and creamy coconut/vanilla scent which is just luscious. It lathers up really well also, and from the moment you start massaging it in, it feels soooo good! It does a really good job at cleansing the hair, and If i don't have time to condition I find that using this alone, will leave your hair feeling really nourished and shiny.

Detangler conditioner
This stuff I find not as good as the shampoo. When you squirt it out, its a creamy yellow colour and doesn't really have much of a scent. One of the main reasons I dislike this product slightly is that I find it really hard to work through my hair and spread out. I try not to use Too much conditioner because I am prone to greasiness, and with this product a little does not go a long way, so i have to squirt big glomps of the stuff to fully feel its throughout my hair evenly. The end result when dry, is average. Its not amazing, but its not bad either.

Fast Drying sculpting spray
I have to say I do love this product. Despite my pump being slightly faulty, it gives a really even spray and does not release too much at once. The scent of this product is nice too, it has notes of cucumber and kiwi I think... or at least thats what I smell ! I mainly use this product when I am toting an up-do, to keep it in place and to add a bit of shine. I find this works better if you spray it in before styling your hair, because then it brushes out slightly during styling, but still leaves you with hold and shine.

Freeze and shine super spray
I haven't used this one too much yet, mainly because I wear my hair down very often so hair spray is not something I really reach for very much. However I have tried it out a few times, and it does provide a good amount of hold. Not much of a scent to this one, just an average smell but not too overpowering like many hair sprays can be. Overall a good product for those who use hair spray quite often.

This has been my first time using Paul Mitchell, mainly because they RRP for a bit more than I usually spend on hair care, so because they were a win I am happy to have had the opportunity to try them out. The shampoo is definitely my fave and I cannot get enough of the lush smell

Review- Victoria Jackson peach palette

This is a review of the Victoria Jackson peach palette. I believe the RRP of these is about £20, however i picked up mine on Ebay new for £4.99 with free shipping. BARGAIN!

Palette comes in a black cardboard mini case also
The inside of the Palette. 4 shadows, 2 blushes, 4 lip colors and 3 mini brushes.

Firstly, let me apologize for how dusty this looks. It had been stored at the back of my make-up draw for a little while, rarely used so it got a bit tatty :(
I had never heard of Victoria Jackson before purchasing this, but thought the colours looked very natural and blendable which made me want to try it out.

Here is a swatch of all of the colours in the Palette
To the left are the 4 lip stains, to the right the 4 eye colours and above are the 2 blushes.

In all honesty, I don't really like the colours once they are on the skin. The eye shadows look really harsh, and even with the smallest amount they tend to go a strange orangey/fake tan colour which is certainly less than nice. The browns are OK, but nothing amazing and the two tan/nude colours I quite simply dislike.

The Lip colours are not too bad, some are better than others. Here are some photo's which show them on my lips. They are very glossy colours, and quite bronzed also, which I like at times, but not for everyday wear. The lightest colour is my favourite I think.

I tried to take photo's with me wearing the blushes and eye colour, but for some reason my camera was making them all look the same :(

So overall in conclusion, I do like the Palette for certain times however its not an essential piece of my collection I would grab for often, and certainly not everyday. At full retail price I do not think this is worth it because the shadows are very odd colours once they get onto skin, and the lip stains come off very quickly... and have barely any staying power at all. Also, not sure if it is just me and my weak fingers, but I find this incredibly difficult to actually open and it takes me about 10 seconds to try and force it open. Anyone else find this to be true?
